Start11 V2 2 things that dont work

Color of menu dont change and folders are shown in recent although disabled in setting

Hi

just started using Start11 V2 on win 11 pro 25H2.

I hope you can help on these 2 things that seems not to wirk:

1. When pressing start button the menu on the left side is grey but i want it to be darker. If i select Start Menu => configuration =>change start menu colors and disable Use autimatic color for the start menu => Pick color and select eg nearly black, the color does not change, it just get bright grey/white:

How to fix this ?

you can see the color on the menu here ( i picket dark/black) but get white

2. Start Menu => Configuration => Advanced options=> select hide folders from recent document list, i still see folders in the list.

How to fix this ?

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.

  • If you set your Windows color mode to dark, you should see something like my screenshot below. Is this what you're trying to get to? That left area can only be white or dark gray. White if you on light mode and Dark gray if you on Windows dark mode.
  • Second question: Which folder was you referring to?

reg 1: ok i see but then what does the "pic a color " do ?

reg 2: see picture, you can see both files and folders are shown in the list although i have selected in settings to hide the folders

  • If you referring to this one. It is for the right side start panel color. refer screenshot below.

If you refer to the lower "Pick Color..." that is for selected menu item background color.

  • the Advance options, if I remember correctly, is not for Windows 7/Modern style, I believe that one only available for Windows 10 and above style.

Further in the search field: these filters  at the top do not seems to do anything, same view is shown for several different choices, and if i use Everything as default search they dont do anything at all is that a bug ?

reg 2: see picture, you can see both files and folders are shown in the list although i have selected in settings to hide the folders

thanks but that cant be because there recent elements are not even an option to choose.

So i guess its a bug ?

No, I believe that is not a bug, perhaps there are limitation in setting for Windows 7 and Modern style Start panel. That is why there is no such option for Windows 7 style. As you can see, it is also not possible to add Group or tabs in Windows 7/Modern style. Which available for Windows 10 and above Start menu styles.

There is something weird see attached

If I search for file content and I at the bottom select  “see more results”  or what it is called in english, I get this as seen on attached screenshot.

How to get rid of that ?

Your app is only opening native microsoft file explorer

it works using open shell app though
