Start11 v1

-Closed October 6th, 2025 21:39, thanks to Basj, Stardock Community Assistant-

I am directed to 'This PC' when I right click> open file location, for the Phone Link app on/in Windows 11. That is at the top, includes all drives and what-not. An Explorer search returns with ...> User> 'me'> AppData> Roaming> Stardock> S8D. This is not the location I am wanting to insert into my 'split tunneling'. I have hit up the VPN, left 'Feedback' with Microsoft, and thought it might be worth asking. I do not want to uninstalled 'Start11 v1', to see if I can find the Phone Link app's location. This is not a common instance and the other two components' FAQ did not come close to the topic.

Besides uninstalling, searching, and installing again, does anyone have a suggestion to find said app?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 full version number.

And to Fine Phone Link main application: PhoneExperienceHost.exe., not as other normal application.

This might help you to locate it.

The Phone Link app's PhoneExperienceHost.exe executable is located in the hidden C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder, which is not accessible by default. To find the exact file path, open the Phone Link app, then open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), and in the 'Processes' tab, find Phone Link, right-click on a column header, enable 'Command Line', and the exact location will be shown.

Steps to Find the Executable Location

  1. Open the Phone Link app: Start by searching for "Phone Link" in the Windows taskbar and opening the app.
  2. Open Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  3. Add the "Command Line" column: In the 'Processes' tab, right-click on any of the column headers (e.g., "Name", "Status") and select "Command line" to add it to the view.
  4. Find the Phone Link process: Locate the "Phone Link" or PhoneExperienceHost.exe process in the list.
  5. Note the file path: The "Command line" column will display the full path to the executable, which will be a subfolder within C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.

On my system its in: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.YourPhone_1.25081.83.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

Not sure if its the same on your system.

1) 24H2 (OS build 26.100.6584)

2) 1.55 (up to date)

Your instructions/directions were clear, understandable, and helped. '...._1.25082.142.0_x64_....' about verbatim, less the preceding on the ".exe's location"

Thank you so much for the quick response.

-End of inquiry, super service especially since it's not about the actual Stardock product (which has had no issues since its install in 2023)-
