Fences made the taskbar vanish

I have long used Start 11.  I had the taskbar at the top of the screen.  That's why I GOT Start 11.  When I installed fences6 upgrade the tops of the fences were under the taskbar so I couldn't move them.  So I tried hiding the taskbar.  But then it vanished utterly.  I rebooted.  Then it will show only at the bottom and only in "hide automatically" mode. Yes, start 11 was set to be at the top.   If I took off "hide automatically, the taskbar is nowhere to be found.  Not even a power button that lets me restart the computer.  I had to turn the computer OFF with the button on the computer.  cold reboot.

Rebooting didn’t help. Using the damn bottom of the screen self hiding toolbar, I was able to get to install/uninstall programs.

So I uninstalled fences.  Still the problem.  I tried the “task bar on the side” and it showed up, but it isn’t useful there. Would NOT go to the top, even though I went back to “aligned top.”  Finally I set the whole of Start 11 back to “default” and THEN it would take the aligned top and it stays put.

Bottom line: Fences opened hidden under Task Bar 11.  If you try to fix THAT the taskbar disappears. There is no WARNING that this will happen.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.

  1. Make sure to move your Fences away from the top edge of your screen if you wish to move your taskbar to the top.
  2. Taskbar on top, make sure you turn off Windows 11 taskbar autohide. Just use Start11 v2 Autohide. Also best to use latest version v2.55 Beta.

Try these and report back.

Thank you.
