C++ Runtime Library error using Windows Explorer Shortcut

I get a strange splash screen showing a C++ Runtime Library notification when clicking on my Windows Explorer shortcut in Start11. Not sure what causes it and the message is also completely blank, with no indication as to what's happening. This oddity occurs on both my desktop and laptop PC using the Windows 10 start menu.

Any idea why this could be happening?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If it still an issue, we need more information.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need it full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe to get it.
  2. Start11 full version number.
  3. As a test, manually add another folder to your shortcuts list and see that new one also having the same issue.

Thank you,

I'm using Windows 11 Home, version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4652)

Start11 version 2.53

Other shortcuts never give me the error and using a "This PC" shortcut doesn't produce the error either. Nothing shows up in Event Viewer when the error occurs as well.

I've done a complete clean install of my copy of Start11 and the error still occurs using a Windows Explorer shortcut. :'(

Just a quick update; looks like this problem occurs on the OS's Window 11 start menu as well. So this might be an issue I'll have to ask Microsoft Support to help resolve.
