Unable to set up Start11 ver 2 on arm64 Surface tablet

but it works fine on a separate arm64 Surface table and laptop.

Hello,

I am successfully using Start11 on 2x arm64 systems: a Surface Laptop 15, 7th gen, and a Surface Pro, 10 core processor, 11th gen. The laptop is running Windows Pro, the tablet is Windows Home.

I'm trying to set up Start11 on a new Surface Pro, 12 core processor, 11th gen tablet with Windows Home, and I just can't get it to work.  It installs perfectly, reboots, and the Settings window is open when Windows restarts (all expected).  The application doesn't work. It just beeps. None of the buttons do anything, the computer just beeps when you click them.  The close window [X] doesn't do anything other than beep. The only way to get the window to go away is to kill it in task manager.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, tried all of the ARM Specific application compatibility settings, and nothing has helped.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

Scott

p.s. I also downloaded and installed three different copies of Start11.  They were broken in the exact same way.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Try this, test install Start11 on that same system in a Windows Sandbox. See if it work while in there. Refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1416855562/Testing+Start+in+Sandbox. Try it and report back.

If you don't have Windows Sandbox in your system, please try Cleanboot: Refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1334935592/Start11+Clean+Boot

Note: Clean boot need to be done carefully.

Sorry, this didn't help at all.  I am trying to install on windows home and an arm64, neither of which can run a vm.
For the clean boot, I have already tried that. It didn't make any difference.

Why would one surface laptop work and another would not? All items are brand new (the laptop since Jan) and this is the only one I'm having problems with.  Can I "force" the ARM64 install?  Or somehow verify that is what actually happened? It doesn't show anywhere which version it's installing and that would be interesting to see.

At this point, nothing has changed. I am able to install the Start11, but it does not work once it's installed.  Clicking anything in the application window causes the laptop top to beep and the only way to kill the running/installed application is through the task manager.

Are there any log files that a I can look at or some way to find out what is going on? It seems like there is another model window open somewhere that I can't see. Anything I click that isn't that window beeps.  May not be that, but that's what it seems like.

Just to be clear, did you create a new admin account? And, did you disabled all services except Microsoft services?

Thank you,
