[START-11] After update, right click on taskbar item brings up normal, or START-11 menu, randomly?

Since the recent update, I am confused by START-11 behavior when I right-click on a taskbar item (i.e., the box with the label that corresponds to an open application).  Sometimes I get the expected right-click application menu, sometimes (more often), I get a Start-11 menu.  How do I disable, or at least make predictable, the latter behavior?  Thank You.

That's unexpected and the first time I have heard that reported.

What OS version are you using, are you using the enhanced taskbar option?

Also do you have anything else on your computer which might alter the behaviour of explorer or the taskbar?

OS: Windows 11 Enterprise 22H2 Build 22621.4751

To my knowledge, I'm not using anything else that would alter the behavior of the explorer or taskbar.

Enhanced Taskbar is enabled, but perhaps at default settings.

I would like to send you screenshots of the problem, and my Enhanced Taskbar settings, but I don't see a way to attach screenshots to the post.  Can I email to you?

Thanks!

Ok - attached is a capture that shows:

Top:  my Enhanced Taskbar settings.

Bottom Left: A Start-11 menu I get sometimes from right-clicking on TaskBar Icons.

Bottom Right: The application's right-click menu I get the rest of the time I right-click on this TaskBar Icon:

Important:  I have dual monitors.  I have Start-11 set up so that my main (left) monitor has a complete taskbar, and the 2nd (right) monitor has a blank taskbar except for Start-menu-icon, date/time, and the TaskBar Icon for any apps that appear in the right-monitor.

The problem seems to happen only in the 2nd (right) monitor.  I cannot make it happen in the left monitor.  Perhaps this will help you reproduce it.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

  1. Start11 full version number installed.
  2. Any other 3rd party application install that manage/change your taskbar/explorer work?

Thank you,

Start 11 Version 2.5

No other 3rd party application install that manage/change your taskbar/explorer work.

What makes this unique, I think, is that it happens only on the 2nd monitor.

Thanks!

I can reproduce your issue on my system. On secondary monitor only. However, the issue do not show up once I upgrade to the latest Start11 v2.51 Beta. Should be available in your account: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Thanks - I can live with this for a bit - would rather not be running a beta - when do you think the next release will be?

Unfortunately, there is no specify timing for official release. Usually once all the issues found on beta release be iron out, the official release should come along soon after that.

Thanks - my concern is that a "beta" will have other issues, perhaps more annoying, and there won't be a way back.  I'd like to assume they'll release in the next several months...

Most probably sooner than that.

First download the 2.5 installer, and then the 2.5.1.2 Beta Installer. Save them both on your C: drive somewhere. Now install the 2.5.1.2 Beta, and if you run into an issue, just uninstall  it, and reinstall the 2.5 version again.
