Start11 2.5 - WIN10 style not working

I recently purchased Start11 specifically to get the Windows 10 style start menu, but I'm experiencing issues with the software not working as intended. When I click the Start button the Start11 menu doesn't appear at all . the start11 menu only appear if i press windows key.

I've verified that:

I have both "Start Menu --> Windows 10 Style" selected in the settings
The "Control -> Clicking the start button open Start11 menu" option is enabled
One thing I've noticed is that when I click on the Start button, it only brings up the default Windows start menu instead of the Start11 menu .

Could someone please help me troubleshoot this issue? I specifically purchased this software to restore the classic Windows 10 start menu functionality

This is a fresh installation of Start11

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core Processor

RAM: 128 GB (4800 MHz)

Operating System: Windows 11 Pro - Version 23H2 (Build 22631)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products . Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

Are you using a custom start button or the OS one and do you have enhanced taskbar enabled?  If you are not using a custom start button, what happens if you enable one?

Also is there anything else running which might alter the taskbar or desktop in any way?

Hello Basj, I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps without success. First, I reinstalled and rebooted the system, no luck. I then tested various combinations of settings.

Hello Neil, i was  using custom button, disabled it, didnt work. I wasn't used enhanced Task bar, enabled it didnt work.

  • Custom logo+no enhance
    • didn't work 
  • Custom logo+enhance taskbar
    • didn't work 
  • No custom logo+no enhance
    • didn't work 
  • No custom logo+enhance taskbar
    • didn't work

Regarding other desktop modification software, I previously used Object Desktop for a year, but it has been properly uninstalled using JV16. Currently, Start11 is the only visual modification software running on my system. I'm not using any screensavers, dynamic wallpapers, or Rainmeter. To note even with ObjectDesktop i had the issue that's why i discontinued my subscription and came around to retry for start11 which deeply love the windows 10 menu.

I searched the forum for this issue and found 4 or 5 posts where this issue was reported, but only one person reported back. They were able to get this working by creating a new user admin account.

I wanted to update everyone regarding the previous issue. Creating another Admin account did not resolve the problem, but I have finally identified the root cause.

Note: While my screenshot is in French (as there doesn't appear to be a way to change Stardock11's language settings, which is unusual), the issue was related to the Windows button click behavior settings. The setting was configured to "MenuStart11 excluding tablet mode." Since my machines have never been in tablet mode, I hadn't ONCE considered checking/changing this setting.

After changing the setting to simply "MenuStart11," the functionality now works as intended. This issue has persisted for over two years, and none of the software updates addressed it automatically.

This should be addressed in future updates to prevent other users from encountering the same problem.
