Download Issues

Hello!

I just purchased Start11 and ever since I installed, any of my downloads are appearing on the wrong screen.  I have a 3-screen set up - one on top (middle) and then two larger below (left/right).  The bottom left monitor is my "main display" - and it has the task bar on it correctly, etc.  However, the top monitor is where all of my downloads are appearing.  I can easily drag them to the bottom left monitor - but that's a pain - and never happened before Start11 installation.  Help!?!

Moved to Start Menu products area.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Start11 should not effect how your desktop icons work. If you uninstall Start11 does the issue goes away? Also, need more information on your system.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 full version number.
  3. Do you have Stardock Fences installed? If you do need its full version number.
  4. What is your setting for Auto arrange icons? (Desktop right click->View->Auto Arrange Icons)

Thank you.

  • Yes, it goes away when even if I just deactivate the license - I don't even need to uninstall
  • Windows 11, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.2454
  • No Fences installed
  • Auto arrange icons, arrange icons to grid, show desktop icons all on

That is strange, However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you.

Are any of your taskbars set to on top of a screen?

Start11 has no logic for positioning desktop icons at all so shouldn't be impacting them but the OS will reposition things itself if the desktop icon area changes size.  A taskbar on the top of a screen or a multi row taskbar could trigger this.

THAT could be it!  I specifically bought this product because of the ability to have a multi-row task bar (bc all of my icons won’t fit on a “regular” taskbar. That’s kinda of counter-intuitive.
