Mouse-over over grouped taskbar button: sporadically showing wrong applications

Hello Stardock,

Win 11 with Start 11 (2.11), running with resolution 3440 x 1440.

Sporadically I face this issue:

I use grouped taskbar buttons  (when taskbar is full).  When I hover the mouse over a grouped taskbar button, it shows the wrong application(s). I cannot open the desired application.

This screenshot demonstrates the problem: The mouse cursor hovers over the Outlook button. But the "hover-over popup" (don't know the right term for it) shows the two open windows of Chrome - which is two buttons to the left (and the first grouped button to the left).

I also recorded a screen video with this glitch. As it is from my business PC, I don't want to share it publicly. Please contact me by PM, then I'll provide the SharePoint URL for the screen video.

How can we proceed to analyze and fix this bug?

Kind regards,
Peter

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately right after uninstall it done. Re-download latest Start11 version. Install it, reboot immediately again right after installation is done. Retest and report back.

Thank you.

Hello Basj,

I have already un- and reinstalled Start 11 a while ago. The sporadic problem stays the same.

Have you checked the from post I mentioned? That user seems to have the same problem. So, it seems that there is a "real" bug.

Kind regards,
Peter

Since the OP of that thread did not respond to my request, we can't assume anything from that.

On to your issue, please try this, when it happen, please try restart explorer.exe and see if the issue goes away. https://www.howtogeek.com/198815/use-this-secret-trick-to-close-and-restart-explorerexe-in-windows/
