Pinned and recent items not showing in windows 10 mode (on start11)

Hi,

I've just had to reinstall start11 after getting a new SSD.

I prefer windows 10 mode. My issue is that right clicking on the icons in the right hand side of the start menu, doesn't show any recent or pinned items.

I have  2 licences for start11, and on my other windows 11 laptop, right clicking an icon (eg word or excel) brings up this list without any issues. I don't remmeber having to do any tweaking to get this.

After my reinstall, right clicking an icon only brings up the unpin, resize, icon, rename, more, move to next page, and group settings on the list. There is no recent or pinned options.

Ok, quick update. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the same version as is currently on the webpage, 2.1.1.0 - it still wouldn't show recent/pinned.

 

I then tried uninstalling, and then installing the older file version I had been using previously - 2.0.8.1. This worked fine and is showing me recent files.

I then tried updating from within start11, and it's now showing in the menu as version 2.11. This is still working fine.

So i'm fixed for now, but seems like there might be a bug in the installer in the latest version.

If it's relevant at all the older filename was Start11v2-fs-setup_sd.exe, and the latest file I downloaded from the website (which wouldn't show me recent/pinned files) was Start11v2-setup.exe

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Sometimes, the necessary files didn't get replace properly when install over an older version. What usually need to be done is to uninstall older version, reboot immediately after uninstall finished. Install the newer version, reboot immediately again right after installation is done.
