START11 Windows is canceling my autostart settings at every reboot

Autostart programm and service "Stardock Start11 Service"

Hi guys,

I love START11 and cannot work without it and therefore stressed by following: both the autostart entry as the service "Startdock Start11 Service" are deactivated at every reboot. Windows is not rembembering these settings or actively deactivating them. So I have to acitved Start11 at every bootup. I tried for weeks finding a solution but failed. I have to mention that this happens to some other programs as well. Of course I am running antivirus (Bitdefender).

Does anybody know? It would be great.

Greetings Wolf

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please look into any application that is installed in your system which do a regular interval cleanup in your system. For example there are reports on "EaseUS Clean Genius" is deleting of Stardock's license files. Refer here: https://forums.stardock.com/523986

Thank you.

Thank you! But I´m not facing a licence problem. After starting manually everything is OK. It is "just" an autostart problem. Something - I guess Windows 11 itself but of course because of sometimes really weird reasons for malfunctions it could also be another programm - is deactivating autostart setting.

Thank you

First, please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

If the service is changing from automatic startup then something else on your computer is messing with the settings as Start11 cannot do this itself.

I would look at some sort of performance optimisation app on your computer or something else that runs on shutdown.

There is no other startup entry for Start11 btw as you mention two startup entries?

Hi

@basj

Thank you, reinstallation worked so far :thumbsup: . Some reboots survived, maybe the purge tool made the difference!? Why manual activation of autostart was not working ... - I don´t know.

@Neil Banfield

I meant 1 startup entry and 1 windows service. Service also was "surviving" reboots and is startet automatically.

Let´s see after next windows update.

Thank you guys
