Shortcuts Gone - Fences Crashed

I've had this long-time issue, it doesn't happen very often, it was there in Fences 4 and also 5.
1. O create a new folder or text doc on my desktop, then do a drag and drop into one of my (4) fences.
2. Before I even get to one of the fences, I will lose the file or a shortcut for a file. One of (3) things happens...
A. All the icons on my desktop disappear, but I can access any of my fences (rolled Up), restarting explorer does nothing.
B. All the icons on my desktop disappear and my fences are gone, restarting explorer does nothing.
C. All the icons on my desktop disappear and my fences are gone, except the file I was dragging is the only icon to remain of my desktop,
restarting explorer does nothing.
I looked at several post, restarting explorer does nothing. I have to restart my PC, there REALLY needs a way to restart fences or something, a PC restart should not be the only fix. There seems to be some kind of bug or glitch as I had this happen server times in both 4 and 5.
