Fences not showing up on top of apps

Hi, I purchased Fences 4 a while back and when I installed it, the peek feature (using the Win+Space shortcut) would bring up my fences on top of whatever app I was in so that I could just click another app to open.  Sometime along the way, this stopped working.  I recently installed Fences 5, even did the purge, and it's still not working.  If I do the key combo while at the desktop, it turns the whole desktop black and shows the fences on the black background.  Also, animation effects are turned on.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more details.

  1. Your Windows 10/11 full version number. Please use Winver.exe to get it.
  2. Fences version number.

Look like you on Windows insider preview build. Do know that Stardock do not support system that on Insider/Beta build. However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their review. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you.  As I said previously, the animation effects are enabled.  I just checked the task scheduler and that task is in there with a ready state as well.  I suspected it was, because the hotkey works, it just doesn't show on top of windows like it did when I first installed v4.  I welcome any other suggestions.
