Start shuts down the computer

Hello community,

I'm having some problems with Start, sometimes when I click the power button it doesn't show the power menu but just shuts down my computer.

My system doesn't crash, it looks like it just triggers a Windows shutdown.

This often causes me to lose work progress because my workstation almost never shuts down, but I need to let it hibernate to save power. And when I click the power button and want to then click the hibernate button in the power menu, my computer just shuts down.

This happens so frequently that it usually happens once out of five times I do this. However, if I click the power button one time and the problem doesn't occur, then clicking the power button multiple times in a short period of time will not trigger the problem.

If this is a bug I would like it fixed, or please at least let me know if I can disallow Start 11 from shutting down my computer (since I almost never shut down my computer, I prefer to type the command in the terminal when I really need to shut it down).

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your issue.

  • You on Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full Windows version number. Please use Winver.exe to get it.
  • Start11 version number.
  • When you installed Start11 did you do the needed reboot right after install?

Thank you.

Yes, I rebooted immediately after installing Start 11.

I've been using Start 11 for a long time, and I usually install the drivers and Start 11 immediately after installing the system, then reboot.

We made some changes to 2.07 for this button which may help you.

Thanks, I had automatic checking for updates turned on so I thought Start 11 was already the latest version, looks like I was mistaken.

After updating to 2.07 the problem has not appeared so far, thank you.
