Start11 V1 Licence

Hi,

I recently had to reinstall Windows on my computer and of course the first thing I had to do install once complete was Start11. I own a Start8 and Start11 V2 licence, so I installed Start11 V2, however I encountered a few issues upon installation. Primarily, there was noticeable lag, along with flickering behind the transparent start menu whenever I moved my mouse across the screen. I also faced difficulties in pinning apps as they occasionally failed to appear after being pinned.

I did manage to capture a video of the flickering. It seems to happen around the borders of other windows:

I tried uninstalling, rebooting, downloading it again and reinstalling, but the issues persisted. I even tried previous versions of Start11 V2 and the issues were still there.

Finally I tried installing Start11 V1 (v1.47) and it's perfect. It looks and performs exactly how I want. I mean look at this, it's so clean and minimal but contains everything I need:



The problem is I am on a 30 day trial for this and my V2 key doesn't work with V1. Is there any way I can buy a key for V1?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Try this, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately after, redownload Start11v2 latest version from your account download page. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest and report back.

The flickering you are seeing looks to be coming from the OS blur.  The OS does this sometimes with blur 

Your v1 image seems to have a solid background which is why this wouldn't be showing.

You can set v2 to use a solid background or the mica effect which should work fine for you.

I am surprised if there is a difference with pinning.  How are you pinning?

V2.07 is due for release later today so it might be worth updating to this version.

So when I installed V2 originally yesterday, it would not let me have a solid background, even if I was using a custom background image. The only exception to this was the mica effect but I prefer the look of a single solid colour. 

Interestingly uninstalling V2, installing V1, then installing V2 over V1 seems to have done the trick for me. V2 appears to have inherited V1s settings, so right now we are looking good. Not sure yet if there are still lag and pinning issues, but we'll see as the day goes on. Fingers crossed I'm good now.

So V2 still seems a little laggy for me. Also when I open a group now the icon for that group disappears. Hopefully todays update will help with this.
