Holy crap Batman!

What a mess...

I've been a fan of Fences from the moment it was introduced, although I continue to wait for improvements, I haven't quite kept-up with developments.

That said, I decided to install/try the app again today following monitor upgrade, with the intention of setting-up fences for the many, many icons that are spanning my three monitors.

However and to my complete shock, the moment I installed the app, it completely reorganized the hundreds of icons on my desktop - now to be fair, this would have driven me insane considering the time needed to set-up my icons in groups etc, though luckily, and as I use desktop OK to save my icon layouts, I was able to recover quite easily.

Though in returning to the app, it doesn't make sense to have it rearrange everything on installation.
Likewise, I also don't think it makes much sense for the app would do so after enabling it either.

But rather, I can't help but feel that this would be best accomplished by means of user choice

- In addition to this, I would add that the app appear to have puked, in-that the hundreds of icons, now placed in two fences, were in a constant of motion - similar to a matrix effect - kinda cool, though highly impractical :p

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, not really sure what happen on your system after you install Fences. Might be Fences picked your latest saved layout snapshot and try to use it. But since your system might have change a lot from the last time Fences was use. It most probably look like a mass. But, do know that Fences has an option to have your icons reset to your Pre-install location by applying its pre-install Snapshot.

Thanks

Can you cite all of the areas where Fences stores user config data?
As I cleared the local user Stardock folder,  is it possible there is another location with config data?
