Problem after installing start11 2.06

from Stardock Forums




I report a bug, after installing start11 2.06 the small icon in the search bar disappeared, that is the image that was to the right of the search box and which depicted the news of the day no longer exists, in fact to be sure of this problem I reformatted the PC and observed all the steps and the apps I installed, in the end when I installed start11 the image in the search box disappeared, everything works ok if I click inside it, but the image is no longer there, I hope you can solve with a next update.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Please refer screenshot below. Something else is conflicting with Start11 for not showing that picture/icon. Do you have any other software installed that change your Windows?

Yes, I installed Rectify11 before installing start11 and the problem wasn't there yet, it appeared immediately after installing start11

Please try uninstall Rectify11, reboot and retest it.

basj don't worry, if it is not possible to restore the image in the search field I will keep this even without the image because luckily it works anyway, let's say it was essentially for an aesthetic reason, never mind

I am not sure this has anything to do with Start11.  The icon is painted by Microsoft as part of the search field.  Start11 has no control over this.

The most likely explanation is the tool you used stopped the OS connecting to the internet to get the icon it uses as that changes often.  Once you rebooted for the Start11 installation it showed the issue.
