Hello, when i try to move my desktop icons into an open space within the fence they get re-arranged in the order of left-right.
Currently I'm only allowed to arrange icons like this:

And id like to arrange them like this:

or:

Well ,I used Fences 3 and 4 before, all have the same behavior for all icons inside it Fences.

You might be talking about auto arrange which is annoying tbh
To turn it off, go to the desktop
right-click>view> click on auto arrange icons
It doesn't matter if you turn desktop auto arrange layout on or off. Those icon inside a Fence will always auto arrange into this.

ohh I get what you mean, google how to create an empty icon on the desktop
after google "How to Hide Icon Names on a Desktop" then you can use them as placeholders
not the best solution but it can be used to achieve what you said
