I recently purchased and upgraded to Fences 5.  Since installing the software it keeps informing me that I am unable to

authenticate with steam even when I start Fences 5 through Stream.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you purchase Fences via Steam, you will need to install and activate via Steam. If you ever install Fences which you download through Stardock Free trial. You will need to uninstall Fences first. Reboot and install Fences via your Steam Client.

If those are the steps you taken, yet still you have same issue. Please report back.

Thank you.

Unfortunaly, I am unable to activate it.  I have purchased all my products from you via Steam never used the Free trail.

I have installed Fences 5 multiple times via Steam and the first thing that pops up is the box indicating that it is unable to authenticate Fences with Steam.  I have run this via the Launch button on the program tab via Steam and still get the error -203 code.

I want you to try the following...

-Unisntall Fences 5

-Ensure you have 'uninstalled' (via the Steam client) any other Fences listings you have in your Steam library.

-Reboot

-Create a temporary new Windows Administrator (<--important) account:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-20de74e0-ac7f-3502-a866-32915af2a34d

-After logging into that new Admin account, open your Steam client and install Fences 5

-If that works, you will be able to log out of the new Admin account and back into yours and the app will be installed and activated under it.

Let us know, please.

If this were systemic, we would be seeing a lot of it - we are not (2).  Something is blocking the sending of authentication data.

Are either of your Steam profiles set to not show online?

I believe you have a ticket open on this...  I want you to respond to it (with a link to this thread) and attach the SASlog.txt that is here:

\[YourWindowsAccountName]\AppData\Local\Stardock\Start11

[YourWindowsAccountName] = whatever your Windows account name is that you are working under.

I have also followed the steps provided and they did not work.

I have also verified that my profile is set to Online.

I purchased it directly this time from Stardock and had to do the alternative activation by submitting the request and using the reply.

I believe that possibly it might have something to do with my network/firewall.

That was always the belief but we are left wanting to know exactly what about it is unique.
