Start button/Old menu

Why do I have to click the start button then click the top of the menu to get the new style Start11?

The Windows key opens the proper Start Menu. In the settings I have it set to load the new style when I click the start button,

but it shows the old start menu, then I have to click at the top where it says Start Menu (Windows)

Is this the way it's supposed to be?

If you are doing that you are opening the Start11 windows 7 menu and then opening the OS menu from that link.

If you want a different menu style you can pick one from Start11 settings.  To open that you can right click on the menu and pick configure start11 or search for Start11 and run that (not stardock start11 as thats a different shortcut)

Thank you for replying. For whatever reason, after a while the menu I had chosen showed like it was supposed to. Thank you.
