Bug fixed in Fences 5? And telemetry/spyware question

There was a bug in Fences 3 and Fences 4 that was supposedly fixed in 4 but still exists in Fences 5. Namely that icons appear through the surface of other programs. In a short test during the weekend it seems that as you know it so far, nothing improved and old bugs continue to exist

According to the statement in the related product forums here on Steam, the error was fixed, but that was a lie. There were some discussions about this to which I got some cheeky answers from your support.

I would also like to know if you have turned off your spyware in Fences 5? Fences 3 and 4 send regular callbacks to Google Analytics and a supposed crash report system (without a crash, of course) and the use of unique data such as the SID and other sensible data?

In regards to Fences 5, if you offer product forums on Steam, but don't provide help, but refer people here, then what are you forums and moderators for?

Anyways, bugs still exist since v3. And i I have not yet received a satisfactory answer on the subject of data collection and regular heart beat questions / crashreports (without crash)

The /pulse telemetry command is also active in v5

All Fences versions were tested with various OS versions, both in operation and freshly formatted. Resolution as example was a normal 100% for Fences 5 overlapping.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. First I am not Support or Dev so I can not comment on telemetry issue. However let me try to figure out the icons see through other program issue. I did saw few reports by others on this same issue but it usually the users are using high scale factor such as 250% and above. The issue goes away if the turn down to 150%.

If I remember correctly, you mentioned your issue happen even on 100% scale factor, yes? Hence there is uniqueness in your case. Since it still happening now, on your current system. Best if you could share information on your system.

  1. Need Windows version on your current system. Need full version numbers. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences version installed on your current system. Just for the record. I know you mentioned its happen on every version.
  3. Monitor/s setup. Resolution and Scale factor on all monitors. (100%,125%,150%,200% etc).
  4. Please upload a video on this so we can try to understand your issue and we try to reproduce your issue on our system.

As for your Telemetry issue. I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Indeed... I politely gave you extensive answers over several days, PenguinSD.  Regrettably, I see that your mindset is still unchanged.

We would happily do that if you want to work on your Fences issues.  However, we will not again open the debate on what data we collect for product authentication.  If that is all you wish to discuss, this thread, and any others created with the same discussion topic, will be closed.
