the posts I have read here don't have an answer.
At the moment the rollup/rolldown seems to exist only to preserve the menu bar onscreen, rather than giving me a choice about direction.
I would like some Fences at the bottom of my screen to roll up and out, so the contents rise upward.
Is this possible, if so how?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, there only two way the Fences can roll. Roll up or Roll down. And Roll down with header at the bottom only appear if you dock Fences at the top edge of your screen. The rest will always roll up. Something like the video I made long time ago.

ok that's pretty good too.
I would still like to be able to have a fence docked to the bottom, and roll open upward revealing the contents, with the menu remaining on the bottom. Would make it a bit easier to "lock" a fence open while I am working on a project, then doubleclick it again to let it close back.
That is not possible at this moment.
