taskbar icons not displayed properly - in particular, the system tray icons

Upon login the taskbar now displays improperly with all system tray items (on the right side of the taskbar) and the Copilot (preview) icon to the right of the Start menu icon slid downward almost an entire icon in distance.  The problem can be corrected by going to settings and auto-hiding the taskbar and then re-showing it.  That correction will stay in effect until the next restart.

Are you using a touch screen device?

If you open start11 settings, go to taskbar settings and scroll to the bottom there is a setting to use automatic, forced touch mode, or forced non touch mode.

Pick touch mode and you should be good.
