Star Menu with AutoHide Doesn't Fully Hide

Not sure if this was included in the new Beta version that I haven't tried out yet. When I enable auto-hide I get the notorious single line across the bottom that still shows once the start menu hides.

Does Start11v2 have an option to set location height when auto-hidden? I would love to get rid of the long line across my entire OLED screen. :)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not recreate your issue on my system. But, my system is not OLED, so I might not seeing what you're seeing. Few more information please.

  1. Windows full version numbers. Use Winver.exe
  2. Start11 v2 full version currently installed.
  3. Resolution and scale factor on the OLED screen.
  4. You're using Windows autohide or Start11 autohide?

Thanks
Basj,

Are you using the OS autohide mode or the start11 one?

Using the stoock windows autohide. I looked to see if Start11v2 had its own autohide but didn't see one.

Im guessing I didn't look hard enough. Also I'm not using the beta version, is it in the last stable version of Start11v2?

Basj, I'll get you the info you requested shortly.

Yes it is in all the 2.x versions.

You turn on the enhanced taskbar and then click the configure enhanced taskbar button and scroll to the bottom and turn on the option.  Note you must disable the Windows autohide first or it will not be used.

Thanks everyone, was able to find the setting in Start11v2. It is now fully hiding when using the built in auto-hide function. My 30 day trial is about to run out, guess its time to make a purchase.

If only Start11v2 would add an option to change the color of the desktop icon fonts so I can match it to my current theme. It is so hard not to put stuff on my desktop when everything is set to hide and its 43" worth of pure black empty SPACE!

I had the same problem and didn´t expected autohide in enhanced taskbar, does not make sense in terms of user-friendliness.

my taskbar is aligend center with 2 monitors, win menu is centered, search is more heading right (no center alignement possible)... why is center (the obvious thing) experimental? when will this be fixed?

"Always hide text button regardless of group status" seems to be better placed here -> Taskbar buttons combination. That seems more logical to me, I searched for 2 minutes until i could hide the text because you wouldn't expect the function to be where it is now...

The autohide option is under enhanced taskbar in Start11 because it requires the enhanced taskbar to be enabled.  We keep settings relating to that under there because it reduces confusion.

The positioning of things is always a tricky decision because there is often more than one 'right' location.  In the case of hide text regardless of group status, we opted to put it with the settings for the text under taskbar button appearance because it is linked to those settings.  It does not alter taskbar button combining hence not being with those settings.

Are you having issues with the centre mode that needs fixing?

ok, I was confused with the options where they now are...  -_-

yes, win search isn´t centered - is this normal in experimental mode "aligned center"?

what surprises me is that the windows search on the primary monitor (1920x1080) has a different horizontal position than on the secondary monitor (1920x1200).

so, i´ve deinstalled stardock11 now because the behaviour is wa too buggy with second monitor. cursor is in fullscreen browser (opera, brave, firefox etc) bigger than usual, in other applications normal. taskbar does autohide but don´t come back up (only explorer and windows apllications so far). this makes no sense always hitting the win key... i am totally frustrated spending my money for this beta software which doensn´t work at all.

you can deactivate my license and i´ll like my money back. i don´t have time to be a beta tester... yak!

I am sorry you are experiencing some issues but Start11 would have absolutely no impact on your cursor.  It literally has no code relating to your cursor.

For the taskbar I assume you have enabled the enhanced taskbar and this the start11 autohide.  Did you perhaps enable the reserve desktop space option below it?

If yes then I would suggest something on your computer is interfering with autohide.  The Nvidia gaming additional app has a screen capture feature which has been known to do this for some people though we did make changes for it which addressed the reports we did have.
