Stupid question

Hi there, everyone. I just got DX and I love it--it's the sort of thing I've looking for. But I have a little question: When I try to load some objects, I get a message saying that the object was made for a later version of DesktopX. But I'm using 2.00a, so the only newer version I can find is the 2.09 beta (well--I can't really find it. I've only seen mention of it).

So what's up with that message? Is there a newer version I should have? Is the object(eg. DX_calendar_pack by _Martin_) trying to use parts of some other OD program that I don't have? Or are most people using the beta right now? If the beta is heavily in use, where do I get it?

Thanks for your time--and thanks to all the theme and object creators who have obviously put in a lot of time to create some impressive work (not to mention the creators of DX itself!).

EDIT: Nm. Apparently, despite typing my serial number in several times, I STILL wasn't registered. I tried that and got an option to update.
Silly n00b--updates are for buyers.

EDIT AGAIN: Okay..that didn't work. Now I'm using DX 2.00a.012, and still get the same message. So is there something I'm missing?

mmm, best bet is to look in the zip file or in the library and contact the author of the dxObject. Also there is a user group on the Stardock UseNet Newsgroups server which you might find some inside info on...

I think there might be a link to the news server from the DesktopX.net web page?

Also there is a WC-Help section for the message board and you might find an answer in that area?

Good luck with it, someone should see this throughout the day and maybe have a solution for you also

That's the problem between the standalone and the Object Desktop builds again. OD builds are always one step ahead because You also get betas there.
