Lag when moving programs to 2nd monitor

Hello All,

I got a user that when he moves programs (like Excel) to his second monitor it will free/lag for awhile.  It isn't every time, but it is frequent.  The PC is Windows 10 Pro.  I've tried Windows updates, driver updates, three different docks (using two different technologies), and an upgrade from Fences 3 to Fences 5.  Anyone, seen or heard of this?  Or have an idea?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know Windows 10 full version number. Use Winver.exe. Also how do you determine that Fences is causing the issue, when moving a program to secondary monitor?

Thanks

Hi Basj,

It is 22H2.  But I will post an actual screenshot as soon as I can.  I don't know for sure it is Fences.  I've tried lots of "solutions" and am looking for any clue as to the true cause.  I suspect Fences because I have lots of laptops with 2 monitors (on a dock) without the problem.  But the only person with the problem also has Fences.  I obviously can't say for sure it is Fences at this point.  Then once I saw all the community posts about trouble with multiple monitor problems or Desktop lag with Fences, I thought "It wouldn't hurt to ask".  I thought maybe someone else might have seen the same thing and has a solution.

Thanks for responding so quickly.

I have two monitors setup too and never seen this issue. But, my displays setting might be different than your client/user. Yes, please do try without Fences running. You can disable Fences just by turn off this setting. And, restart explorer.exe.

Thank you,
