"Product Activation could not write the activation signature"

Installing and activating with serial number fails

I'm reinstalling Multiplicity after a long hiatus and the product activation fails with "Product Activation could not write the activation signature".  I'm using the serial number form my products/downloads page and have even successfully retrieved all serial numbers via email to be sure I have the correct keys.  Still nothing I do gets me past this.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Which Multiplicity version you're trying to activate? And on which Windows version?

Thanks

I see the same issue on 2 other systems, running Windows 11 Pro and Windows 11 Home.  Using the same installer.

I am not sure what Multiplicity Pro 126 is. Is that v1.26? Currently it Multiplicity 3.60. It might be compatibility issue with current activation system or current OS.

Are your activation steps look something like this? https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1260585032/Activating+Stardock+Software+(Pre-2014).

Thank you,

It must be v1.26 - the installer that I downloaded from the Downloads section in my profile was "MultiplicityPro_126_setup".

Here is what I see

When I enter my serial number from the Downloads listing, I get this:

(Released in 2011)

End of quote

It's not compatible with your current version of Windows. Remember there's been a lot of updates and upgrades to the operating sytem since 2011, and maybe the last time you used it you were on Windows 7? I don't think it's ever been possible to install version 1.46 on Windows 10 and definitely not on Windows 11.  (Maybe neither Windows Vista nor Windows 8)
