Help with "Show recently added apps" and "Synchronize pinned items from the OS menu with Start11"

Hello, I am unable to sync my pinned apps from the default OS menu. All I have pinned are apps that are from the Windows store, nothing from "externally" installed apps. For instance, Steam or Firefox. They are indeed pinned in the "Windows menu". If I pin something to start (or pin to start11), they do appear and work properly afterwards, however i have would love to import them and not do manually because i have many.

 

Also, I see that we can't add "recent added apps" on the "main" page of the menu?

The only way I could see the recently installed apps was by going into the "all apps" menu.

Is this intentional? I see that we can add groups or tabs for "suggested apps folder" or "recent searched folder" but not "recent apps"

 

I also see that we cannot manually add it from the "Shortcuts list" configuration option or in the "Manage custom filtered folders".


I tried restoring settings to default, but both problem still present.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.

  1. Sync my pinned app. Have you tried log off and log in again. As mentioned on that option which said (Sign out required)?
  2. For the Show recently added apps, make sure the option also selected in your Windows settings. (Personalization->Start->Show Recently added apps->on)

Try those, reboot and report back.

Hey again,

I tried a bunch of stuff and unfortunately never succeeded to sync the original W11 start menu pinned items. I guess this isn't a big deal because once you re-pin the items they appear in Start11 v2.

The second point however is kinda a big deal because whenever I install a new app, it doesn't appear and it is very annoying.

The only 2 ways I manged to counter the issue is by manually loading the original W11 start menu with CTRL+Click, seeing the new Recently Added app. Then, I right click and pin to start.

 

When I open Start11, I do no see anything related to new apps or Recently added.

 

 

There is no way to have "recently installed" into any page, tab or group.
