Can't delete a Fence

Hi,

Since updating to version 5 (from v3) of Fences, I can't no more delete a Fence. When I click on X dans "Delete this Fences", nothing is done.

I have try a full deinstallation and reinstallation (conserving parameters) with reboot after uninstall and this doesn't change anything. I have the latest version and after installation click on check for new version and get message "Your Fence is up to date".

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I cannot reproduce your issue on mine. I can create and delete Fences without issue. Need to know if you have unlock your Fences first. Please, as a test, create a new Fences, name it, than delete it. Does it work?

Hi,

Need to know if you have unlock your Fences first. Please, as a test, create a new Fences, name it, than delete it. Does it work?

My Fences is unlock.

I made the test Fences or Portal like this : create a news fence, add a name and delete and this never works. The Fences is never deleted without any error message. The application doesn't crash, it just not delete the Fences.

Is there any log file I can send to you ?

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Hi,

I follow strictly the instruction and even remove parameters. 

Make a full reinstall v5 => KO (Installation OK, but I can't delete a Fence)

Full deinstallation (with your method) => OK

Make a full reinstall v5 beta => KO (Installation OK, but I can't delete a Fence)

Full deinstallation (with your method) => OK

Make a full reinstall v4 => KO (Installation OK, but I can't delete a Fence)

Full deinstallation (with your method) => OK

Make a full reinstall v3 => OK (Installation OK, Fences works correctly even for deleting a Fences)

 

Problem occurred only with v4 et v5.

 

Here my configuration : 

Edition Windows 11 Professionnel

Version 23H2

Build 22631.2715

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22677.1000.0

Hi,

Do you have any log file that can help to analyze ? 

I have read the cleanboot, witch is particularly insecure solution since it will disable AV too.

If you wish, you can try Windows Sandbox: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#sandbox.  And see if it work under newly install condition without any other application installed.

You don't understand to my ask about log file.

I have found the application that cause problem without using Cleanboot.

Great, glad you figure out which application that causing the problem. Please share with us the program name so anyone who might have similar issue could check it.

With regard about log file. I did not respond to that since I am not sure what to do with a log file since I am not a Dev just a normal user like most user are.
