Prompt is not recognised as a text box when using Voice Typing

Prompt is not recognised as a text box when using Voice Typing

That would seem to be a bug in voice typing unfortunately as that is a text box.

Yes, but thats an entirely different window with a entirely different text box (which actually isn't a win32 text box unlike ours)
As I say our box is a text box, if you gave it focus then it should work.
Your 'text box' replaces the native text box. The native text box works, yours doesn't. I can't say whether you or anybody else working on your product have thoroughly investigated and understood why it doesn't work during the short duration of this thread. Others here can form their own view.
The speed of your reply would suggest to me a case of sloping shoulders and finger-pointing. Have you properly investigated why the substituted text box provided by your application doesn't behave as one might expect?
Maybe it's your application, maybe it's Microsoft's. I don't know, but the use of your application has made it my problem, and a problem for anybody else that routinely uses voice input.
You are in a position to properly determine where the issue lies and to get the responsible party to address it, or if that is not possible to document the loss of functionality.
I have reported the anomaly as you have requested your customers to do, you will do as you see fit.
Thanks.
Over and out.
I did actually try to take a look both before replying to confirm if that tool is on Win10 (it seems to be new to Win11 unless it was renamed) and to check that our code does indeed have an edit box and that it does have keyboard focus when clicked.
Unfortunately the MS app crashes on the box here in any app once you actually say something which does rather limit the testing available and is why I have my doubts about the entire app.
Full disclosure this was tried on an insider build of Win11 as thats what the test box next to me happened to have so the crashing is probably exclusive to that version (one hopes!)
Just to clarify something however, our edit box doesn't 'replace' the Microsoft one. It really is an entirely different menu with a different set of windows in it. It just looks similar to the OS menu.
It will remain on a list for further investigation and I should reassure you it always was even after the initial post, but it is somewhat low on the priority list given the very small number of reports we have had (1) in the past two years.
Thank you for your considered reply.
I look forward to the issue being resolved in a future release of your product.
Best regards
