Start 11
I just purchased Start 11, and am unable to get the Windows Pro style option to open up. Is there something else that needs to be done to open all style options?
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Which Start11 version you have and you on Windows 10 or 11? Need Windows full version number. Use Winver.exe.
Thanks
Basj,
Stardock Community Assistant.
I have Start 11 latest version I think 2.0 as I just bought it yesterday. I amusing Windows 10 and here is the version I have.. Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 22H2
Installed on 8/31/2022
OS build 19045.3570
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19052.1000.0
I hope this answers your question, if not what else do you need?
Dan
Please try this. Uninstall Start11, reboot immediately after. Download and the latest version 2.01 from your product account : https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Choose the v2.01 [Beta] reboot again after install finish. Retest it and report back.
Thank you,

Hi Basj, I did exactly what you said I uninstalled Start11,rebooted,then clicked on your link and chose V2.01 and got this Start11_2.0.1.1-j53-Setup_sd installed the app it produced, then rebooted. Nothing changed and I still cannot open the Windows Pro Style option. Isn't there another (bug proofed) version I can install after I uninstall this version. Or have I not chosen the correct V2.01 version as compared to what you see I installed.
Please advise and thank you...Dan
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I don't think its the Start11 bug, since I don't see it happening in my Windows 10 and Windows 11 system. Just to clarify, you can not only use the Windows Pro Style? Other style such as Win 7, Modern, Win10, Win11, Win App and Win Launcher style do work, yes? Few screenshot might help us understand your issue better.
Here is what my desktop look like on Win Pro style, excuse the blank off part.

Thanks

OK Basj, here is the latest. I tried to use the "Print Screen" function on my desktop to attach screen shots and it only shows a small part of the screen. How do I get a screen shot to you? However, here is the answer to your questions about style selections.
When "Windows 7 style" is selected I get a small instruction that says this style has a substyle. I get the same result when I click on "Modern Style" it also shows this style has a substyle.
None of the other styles show this message. Rather the message for all the others is there are no substyles for this this style. Change options by using the link below. However there is no link to click on.
The only thing showing is the Menus Gear icon. When I click on that I am taken to a large number of selections regarding the program. Some are already on others are not. I found the task bar option seems to work and I could change my start button icon. which I did.
Basj, If there are specific functions I need to be sure are turned on, please advise me exactly what they are. I looked really hard and I did not find any button that said it changes the "Windows Style Function".
By the way, was the selection I sent you the correct one Start11_2.0.1.1-j53-Setup_sd Please let me know what exactly I next need to do. Thank You...Dan
In Windows there is a tool name "snipping tool". It is available for all Windows 10 and 11 system. Use it to screen capture. You can review on how to use it by searching in Youtube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=snipping+tool
To upload a picture into forum in here use one of these two buttons.
The substyle only appear for Windows 7 and Modern style. To change how the menu look like. Select/click on "Configure menu" this will open up more option for each of available style.
Thank you,

Press Win key + shift +s to activate snipping tool.
Use your mouse to drag a box of what you want to copy.
Pretty simple and easy to use ![]()
Basj, here is the snip tool image. Notice that Windows Pro style has no substyle. Also remember I told you I am still on Windows 10...Dan

The link they are referring to is "Configure menu." After clicking that, if you then click "Customize menu visual appearance," there are a multitude of customizations you can make.
Also, if you click "Configure menu," and then scroll down on the settings page, you will see "Advanced options," which if you click will offer even more customizations.
You'll need to use trial and error to find the customizations you like. Don't be afraid to try different settings and see what they do. Start11v2 offers a wide range of customizations, you just have to spend some time exploring the Configuration app.
Hello danspedale,
As I mentioned above
It doesn't matter if you on Windows 10 or Windows 11. There is no substyle for those others substyles. What you can do is configure it manually by clicking on "Congure menu"

As mentioned by Pelaird above, try it out and it can do lot of manual configuration.
Thank you,

Basj, if you take a really, really, take a good look at the screenshot I sent you you will realize I DO NOT GET A CONFIGURE MENU icon at the bottom of my display.
Basj, I have finally given up on Start11 and have gone back to Start10. I would have loved to use your new software but it is still buggy in my opinion. Perhaps if you finally come up with a new version 3.01 and it works everywhere, you might be kind enough to send me an email copy.
Respectfully, Dan
