Fences on Windows 11: Lost 90% of Shortcuts

I was gone for a week. Turned on workstation last night, all was as it should be. Today:

Fences are in place but 90% of the shortcuts are gone.

I restarted, still gone.

Tried restoring a snapshot: No effect.

I have numerous snapshots to choose from including yesterday.

I restored 2 diff snapshots: Nothing.

Restarted: Nothing.

Really pleased.

Not really.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. This usually link to OneDrive Desktop Sync as reported here: https://forums.stardock.com/501085/page/1/#3785362

Thanks

Well that was bad.

I had turned off desktop back but Winblows somehow reactivated it.

So I went and disabled it and THEN got a message that the folder was deleted.

So I've lost all the desktop icons.

Awesome.

Would have been nice to have a warning that would happen.

Actually, when I did it, I don't have the folder deleted issue. What I did was just disable Onedrive desktop Sync and move all those icons back to desktop folder via Window explorer. Did you turn off/disable Onedrive or just OneDrive desktop sync function?

Thank you,

Hey,

Yeah I did disable it, as mentioned, a 2nd time.

I grabbed an image from April that I'd made and got back about 60% of my shortcuts manually.

Leave it to Micro$oft to mess up something simple.

I'm really enjoying that they killed the ability to drag files to the address bar in the latest "update", aren't you?

Arghhh.

Thanks for the response btw!

To be clear: I wasn't venting at you but at M$ for not putting the warning that all files in the Desktop backup would be utterly nuked (not even in the recycle) before disabling the backup.
