Some desktop icons disappear randomly - Fences 3

Issue: Select desktop shortcuts disappear randomly and cannot be restored from snapshots

Description:

This has been happening for the last two years. So bad that I just keep a back up of the desktop shortcuts elsewhere and copy them to the desktop when needed. For Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Pro computers, all my RDP shortcuts and a particular program that has run as admin set on the shortcut set will delete randomly. I believe even a Word document went away at one point.

I read the FAQ and tried various steps to include the restore snapshot options. I can see my shortcuts in the prior snapshots but they do NOT restore when I choose the snapshot with them present. I have learned to live with the disappearing shortcuts for the most part.

Quick hide an desktop pages is disabled.

Maybe there are others out there with the same issue?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Usually, icons or set of icons disappear issue link to OneDrive Desktop Sync issue. Please try looking into your OneDrive setting and try disable Desktop Sync and see if it help.
