Start11-is there a way to put programs/folder shortcuts you want at the top when you press start button? Windows 11

Customize start menu with programs you want at top

I want to be able to click on Start in Windows 11 and have a few programs, perhaps folder shortcuts, I desire to be at the top without renaming them?

Now if I pin to Start then I have to hit the back button after I click Start11 button. I know wah wah.. Sure I could just hit the back button if no other solution. Not such a big deal obviously.

Thanks for any suggestions other than get  over it.

Good products. Been using Since Start 8. Appreciate your company.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. You're using Start11 Windows 7 or Modern style?

Thanks.

I believe, its cannot be done on Windows 7/Modern style. But, in Windows 10/11 style you can simply click, drag and drop off those pins icon into location that you wish.

I tried the other style Windows as you suggested (thank you)  and it was nice BUT it showed "recently added programs" which I could not get rid of no matter where I clicked it off. Tried everything I could think of.

Also the pinned area is not dynamic and quite large even though I have about 6 items.

Thank you for any knowledge and wisdom you possess. And again I appreciate such great dedication of the of people at the company

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you Windows 10 style and recently added items appear on the all program list you can choose to disable all program list on default. Also you can resize those page to some extend by moving your mouse pointer to the top or right edge and when the mouse pointer change to resize pointer you should be able to click and drag it to change it size manually.

Thanks

(For W10 menus) If you just want the items on top of your app list, you can just turn off "Show recently added apps" (second from the top in the image above), and then edit the filenames in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ so that they will appear at the top. Adding a "#" to the beginning of the filename should do it. It isn't pretty but Start11 doesn't seem to have the functionality to reorder the app list.

thank you I knew about renaming and I have done that. I did put another question out there with respect to if you right click on the taskbar to close task manager that was start 11 running it will not close. It’s a minor thing though. I did post a ticket on that. Thanks again.
