Start11 stops reacting to actions (mouse clicks, and windows key) when copying files

I am using Windows 11.

When I copy/move files from one folder to another, the Start11 toolbar will stop responding if they are large files. Once the files have finished copying, all the mouse clicks and the Windows button will activate on the Start11 application/toolbar.

I have used another Explorer alternative (Q-Dir) to see if this is an issue with another application, but this issue doesn't happen. So this is only happening when I use Windows Explorer.

Not sure how to fault find this - I have done reinstallation, and I have done restarting of the computer. I have turned off Start11, and the default Windows11 Toolbar has no issue.

Does anyone else have this issue, or know how I might be able to do anything to resolve it?

Thanks

Becs

Hi @basj

Since this is not a crash, I have no dump file that I can deliver.

However, this is the Windows System I have

Edition    Windows 11 Pro
Version    22H2
Installed on    ‎23/‎03/‎2023
OS build    22621.1631
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22641.1000.0
Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900K CPU @ 3.70GHz   3.70 GHz
Installed RAM    64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)

Version of Start11: 1.43

How to reproduce

1) Copy a file (or multiple files) using Windows Explorer from one location to another (or delete lots of files)

2) Try to use Start11 Toolbar, and it will be unresponsive.

3) Use another Explorer tool (like Q-Dir) doing the same operation, Start11 will not be unresponsive

4) Start11 doesn't crash; it just doesn't respond for a very long time or until the action in Windows Explorer has been completed.

Other applications and Windows Explorer is still working, and responsive, only Start11 becomes unresponsive.

Look like you on Insider preview release Windows 11. Do know that Stardock does not support Inside preview / Beta version Windows. However, I tested on Windows 11 22H2 (OS Build 22621,1555) and I can not reproduce the issue. Start11 still work as normal as I copy a big file into another folder.

Thank you,

Hi,

Thanks I was not aware that this was getting a release preview, and thus I can understand now why maybe there is an issue.
I am unsure if I can roll back, so I will wait until the following official comes out and review.

I have also turned off the Release preview - thanks.
