[Bug] Fences doesn't hide Shortcut Arrows for apps from the Microsoft Store

The bug occurs in up-to-date Fences 4, v4.10, on Windows 11.

With the option "Hide shortcut arrows on desktop icons" -> "Hide for program links" enabled, shortcut arrows are still displayed for shortcuts to apps from the Microsoft Store. This also seems to apply to native Windows apps, like the "Maps" app.

Here are two screenshots to illustrate:

This app shortcut from the Windows store incorrectly displays a shortcut arrow: https://i.imgur.com/51etzXC.png

This normal app shortcut correctly hides the shortcut arrow: https://i.imgur.com/elOqtmz.png

I suspect the problem applies to all shortcuts with the "Target location" of "Applications".

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Here what I see on my system. And notice the setting. I believe you will need to tick the "Hide for Documents link" too. My guess, it is because the shortcut is not ".exe" type.

Thanks

Thank you for the reply. Your solution of enabling "Hide for document links" does indeed work, so thanks a lot for that!

Nonetheless, I recommend adjusting the internal Fences logic so that "Hide for program links" correctly hides MS Store apps, too, even if those are technically not .exe shortcuts. As I mentioned, this is a general issue which affects all Windows 11 MS Store apps, and even applies to official Windows apps like Maps.

Conversely, hiding these via "Hide for document links" does work, but it is not remotely intuitive, and no user would expect this solution to work.
