Ghost Icons on the Desktop after collapsing a Fence

Fences 4 on Windows 11 Bug

Dear Community,

I got a strange Bug since Fences 3. The upgrade to 4 did not solve the problem, so I decided to reach out to you. A new install and the purge does not work as well.

I did a screen recording to show the problem.

After collapsing the fence, the icons remain in place, but after a mouseover or putting a window on top of the icons, they disappear.

On my Surface, Fences is working on Windows 11 as it should. But on my Spectre360 from HP, I got this Bug from day 1 on.

Does anyone have some suggestions for me?

Best regards from Germany

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.

  1. Full version number of Windows 11. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Monitor/s resolution and Scaling applied (100%,200%,300%)

Thanks

Hi Basj,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Version 22H2 (Build 22621.1413)

My Resolution is 3840 x 2160 with a scaling of 250% (recommended).

I checked it on a external Monitor with a lower resolution (1080p) and the Bug was gone. Is there any limit to the Resolution?

Best regards

Torben

Just as a test, try set your 4K monitor to 150% or 200% does the issue resolved?

Thank you,

Hello, i have exactly the same problem on windows 11 21h2, it does stop after lowering the scaling but then everything is too small.

That's why i regrettably can't use fence like this, i don't know if it's planned to correct this bug in an update but it would be super cool if it would.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. At what scaling applied the issue start to show up?

Thanks

The issue begins to show at 300% scaling. It doesn't show at 250%.

my monitor is in  3840x2160p

since it's a tv screen, 250% is too small to see well.

Hey everyone.

On my PC, it's starts from > 200%.  I got the same resolution as @kaine42 (3840x2160p). For me, it's the same. I don't want to work on 200% just for fences to work. Everything else is too small. Please fix this Resolution / Zoom Problem.

Hello,

I just want to confirm you are running the most up to date version of Fences 4?

Hi TPScroggins,

i got the most up-to-date version of Fences 4. The problem was already in Fences 3. So, I guess it was never fixed. I think it's a bug and not a feature xD

Best regards
