Close an app by simply middle-clicking on the taskbar button

Suggestion for improving Start11 app

Dear Stardock team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to suggest an improvement for the Start11 app that I believe would enhance the user experience.

As a frequent user of the app, I have noticed that it can be inconvenient to close an app from the taskbar. Currently, users must middle-click on the app's preview to close it. I would like to suggest adding the functionality to close an app by simply middle-clicking on the taskbar button, similar to how web browsers allow users to close tabs by middle-clicking on the tab.

I believe this improvement would streamline the user experience and make it easier for users to quickly close apps. It would also bring the app in line with other applications that allow middle-clicking for quick actions.

Thank you for your attention to this suggestion. I appreciate the work that you and your team do to create and maintain such a valuable app.

Best regards,

Olivier

Middle click on a taskbar button is defined as open a new instance in Windows 10/11 (and possibly earlier too).

We will look into this but it would need to be optional as it conflicts with expected OS behaviour.

Thank you for considering my suggestion to add the functionality of closing an app by middle-clicking on the taskbar button in the Start11 app.

I appreciate that this feature may conflict with expected OS behavior and understand that it would need to be optional. I look forward to seeing if this feature can be implemented in the future.

Thank you for your attention to my suggestion, and for creating and maintaining such a valuable app.

Best regards,

Olivier
