Contextual menu not appearing long enough to create a fence

I have trouble accessing the contextual menu to create a new fence (in Fence 4.0) after I draw a rectangle on the desktop. It works fine just after I restart windows (10), but then after I created one or two Fences it becomes impossible to create new ones as the menu shows up for only 1/4 of a second making it impossible to access it.
Any ideas? Thanks

Is there a chance that your are potentially moving the mouse? That will make the selection go away if it is moved too far
