Groupy will not open multiple folders at once on W11 PC but it does on my W10 PC

Hi,

I've been running Groupy on my Windows 10 PC for over one year. I start my work day with a Group that opens three particular folders and one Chrome page as a group. This works flawlessly on my W10 machine. I bought another laptop last week which came with W11. I installed Groupy on it and set up the same group but Groupy will only launch one folder and one Chrome page. I built a new group on my W10 machine to see if maybe I had forgotten a step and the new group opened up as designed. I followed the same steps on the W11 machine and I get one folder instead of three opening. I checked all the Groupy settings on both machines and they are configured exactly the same. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there a setting that I've overlooked? Thanks in advance

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you check if :

  1. Groupy is turned on?
  2. How your saved group look like. Copy and paste the "xxx.groupy" file here. You can open the .groupy file with Notepad.
  3. How do execute that Groupy group? Batch file? If Batch file, maybe something is blocking it. Look into your AV or security software setup.

Thanks

Hi, yes it is turned on. It will launch a single file folder and a single Chrome window just fine but not multiple folders. Thanks for the Notepad suggestion. When I have both computers together later, I'll compare .groupy files for any differences. If I can't resolve it, I'll post the .groupy notepad text here.

Yeah, I saw that 11 was not specifically mentioned as supported yet but I hoped for the best. Fingers crossed support for 11 comes along soon. I really like the program (when it works on my other computer at least).

I was able to get Groupy to work as I needed on W11. Thank you for the Notepad suggestion. I opened the working W10 and nonfunctioning W11 groupy files in Notepad and I was able to systematically edit the W11 file until it launched all 3 folders and a Chrome window as needed.

Stardock focuses too much on Blinds and other useless Mac theme stuff, unfortunately.

Why still no fix for this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe Groupy V2 is coming. For now with Groupy V1.X you will need to use "Always place above" tab with Windows 11 with explorer tab.

Thanks

For now with Windows 11 22H2 I use disable tab explorer in Windows, so there is no conflict with Groupy :
