Taskbar icons do not equate to the application shown for that icon

I constantly have issues with Start11 mixing up the icons and they do not open the program shown for that icon... Examples in images show Zoom highlighted but Start11 will open Excel. Same for Outlook highlighted thinking it's Word!

A reboot will resolve it but that's not a good solution. It's a ThinkPad X1 Carbon using both the screen and an external monitor. Do the same with two other laptops that have never seen this same issue. Both the laptop and external monitor taskbars exhibit the same issue.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know your Windows full version numbers, use Winver.exe to get it. And your Start11 version.

Thanks

Please try this. Uninstal Start11. Reboot immediately after. Reinstall the latest V1.37, should already be available for download from your account product page. Reinstall that version reboot immediately after. Retest it and report back.

I've followed the above, and installed v1.37. The acti9vation problem was resolved. I'll let you know if the issue comes up again. It doesn't happen right away. Thanks.

Hello again,

This with Taskbar enhance turn on or off? Also, is there any other application that running in the background which have some control on your taskbar other than Start11? Some times manufacturer install their own software which might effect Start11 function.

Thank you,

Thanks, Basj. No other taskbar-specific apps. Only Start11. Only does it on this one laptop, a new Lenovo X1 Carbon. I compared the taskbar settings to another machine that doesn't exhibit these behaviors...

  • Taskbar buttons should be combined on secondary monitors: (was Always), changed to Sometimes.
  • Allow Taskbar to be resized: (was On), changed to Off

Those were the only two settings that didn't match the other machine. I'll give it some time to see if this resolves the problem.

There is V1.38 Beta out, have you tried that version?

Nope. I'll install that now! Not sure it will have anything specific to this issue given you are not seeing it widely reported. Can't hurt to try it though. Thanks!
