License question clarification - business use

Start11 is offered in a multi use 5 system license. Is that permitted for commercial use? I see a business license however there is EULA indicates that business may use either license so that if I dont need the extra support of the business license I can use the multi pack in my business. Thanks

Where you use Start11 is largely irrelevant as far as policy is concerned.  What is important is what features you want.

For example, the 'retail' 5pack consists of 5 individual key, not 1 key with 5 concurrent activations attached to it like for business products.

You also cannot add activations to retail keys, only business products have that.

Thank you for the clarification. Just for my own curiosity, last time I purchased the 5 pack for 14.99 I believe it was one key that covered all devices. Did that change?

The Business version of Start11 mentions that "Maintenance Updates" are included for the duration of the support subscription.

Meanwhile, with Start10 (which did not have Home and Business versions) I got regular program updates for as long as the program was installed.

What are these "Maintenance Updates"?  Are they the same as the regular program updates?

Does this mean that with the Business version of Start11, I will only get regular program updates if my subscription is active?

Meanwhile the Home version doesn't mention anything about updates.  Does the Home version continue to get updates "for life" included with the price of the license?  Or does the Home version now only get updates for 30 days (the listed "support" period)?

This really needs clarification.  To have to spend more money for the same product and less updates will really drive people to the Home version - especially small and medium businesses.  Only massive corporations might see value in the "one key for multiple installs" when every thing else will be so much more costly.

It has not. All 5-pack products have a single SKU with 5 concurrent activations attached to them.

Many large corporations use our applications well after they are no longer sold (generally when we release a new product in the line, Start10 ->Start11 for example).  For clients unable to migrate immediately, we can make changes, or do 'maintenance', for such legacy applications where possible - so that they continue to function in the event of any major Windows changes that cause issues.

There are also instances where corp clients need special functionality and \ or installation processes and we work with them directly to accommodate them.

As is the norm in many support circles, corp clients with subscription services also receive priority for tickets created in our system.

For how minor \ major updates are covered, please see:
