Can't upgrade to Windows 11 due to Start button replacment (Start 10 or 11?)

Hi!

My PC is eligible for a Windows 11 upgrade. When I try to do the upgrade, it stops with a complaint about a Start button replacement; it wants me to upgrade to latest version of Stardock Start 10, or uninstall it. I uninstalled Start 10. But problem persists.
Windows shows error 0x8024a205

Help!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge part of this guide mention here : [Link]. Reboot after the purge. Retest and report back here. Use Start11 when you have Windows 11 up and running.

Thank you,

OK, so I did the purge, restarted PC.  Then Windows Update did a few minor updates, so rebooted PC after them.

After this, I am now showing the Windows 11 upgrade as "Coming soon: Windows 11, version 22H2".  apparently I'm now in some sort of holding pattern.

I will wait and check this every day to see if this changes.  I think this is progress?

Following the "Learn more" link, I see this:

Still stuck due to some "Safeguard hold".  Following the various links from Microsoft on the topic doesn't help.

I'll try every few days.
