Cannot pin URL to Taskbar

Hi,

 

I had trouble running a windows update and I was advised to reinstall Windows , which I did.

 

The only consequence of this is that I lost the icon of a pinned URL on my taskbar. (Perhaps foolishly) I deleted it but now cannot re-create it at all. I'm using the Edge menu, More Tools, pin to taskbar but nothing happens. The Edge "launch taskbar pinning wizard" just hangs.

 

Any ideas?

If the wizard hangs this is unlikely to be caused by Start11 but some underlying issue on the OS.

You can test this theory by uninstalling Start11, rebooting and then trying again.

Indeed I started looking at the taskbar pin issue on Google and it seems that the (successful) way to pin a site to the taskbar is to create the site as an App (from Edge) and then pin the app to the taskbar. All quite a radical change, and I don't know why the "pin to taskbar" and "taskbar pinning wizard" are still there as menu options on Edge but at least it's solved.
