Autohide taskbar stays hidden on mouseover system tray area

I think the title says it all. It's not the most important thing, but it is frustrating because I know where the icons are and the natural thing is to move the mouse directly toward them not down and across. You know, if I want to see mounted USB drives or fiddle with sound settings.
