License expiration

Hi

I purchased a full Object Desktop license back in August, assuming it's a lifetime purchase as nowhere it was mentioned that it was only a one-year subscription. I only installed the software today only to find out that my license will expire in August 2023. The purchase page for all products is misleading because it only states the number of users/PCs but says nothing about time limitations. Also, after I found a free software called DesktopPatcher, I now have no use for Start11, as DesktopPatcher is far more advanced and free. I only tool I find useful is Project Desktop Multiplicuty KVM, which is limited to only 2 PCs. Can I exchange the Project Desktop license with a lifetime license of Multiplicity KVM? Are the prices listed here for an annual license or a lifetime?

Thanks

Yes, it was. From bottom of  Object Desktop page [Link]

After that year has passed, all the apps included in Object Desktop will continue to work without limitations for ever, but you will no longer have access to updates & betas, and if you wish to reinstall the apps you purchased, it is adviced to keep a backup of the installers & serial number(s), because the installers will no loger be available for download from your account page [Link] without a subscription

Thanks. After trying all of the offered tools in Project Desktop, I came to the conclusion that I have no need for any of them except for the Multiplicity KV, which is limited to 2 PCs only and one KVM. Suppose I upgrade from Project Desktop's KV to Multiplicity KVM Pro by paying for the difference, does one-year support also apply to the Multiplicity KVM pro $99 purchase fee? Do I still need to pay $19 each year to get the latest software update?

Thanks

Hello,

If you have Multiplicity KM (Which come with ObjectDesktop), I believe you can use the upgrade button as shown in:   https://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/. Those buttons should tell you the discount you will get for the upgrade.

And, no, you will not need to pay every year for the updates. As long as it is an update for Multiplicity V3.X. You will need to pay again if Multiplicity upgrade to higher version number such as Multiplicity V4.X. And, only, if you think you needed the upgrade version.

Thank you,
