If I buy the Object Desktop, can it stay on my computer forever after the 1-year subscription?

Hi....not exactly.

Object desktop is a Subscription service which provides ongoing updates etc to its suite of included programs.

When or if you end your subscription  you can still use any programs  already downloaded and installed albeit  without future updates...;)

Yeah, that's what I am asking. for example, regarding the fence application, when my subscription ended will my fences stay on my computer and make it organized as long as I don't reformat my computer right? but no updates.

Yes. If you download and keep the installer & serial number on a backup disk, you can install it if you reformat or even install it on new computer if or when that day comes.
