Fences not running at all

As much info as I can think of - 

I'm starting off fresh with a new computer - Dell Optiplex 7000 Micro 

Fences Version 4.0.7.2

Windows version 21H2 build 22000.856

Start Fences I get "Welcome to Fences"

nothing below works (not supposed to I'm sure)

Task Manager says Fences Settings is running, not Fences

after setting what I want and closing that window, nothing about Fences is running.

I have installed and uninstalled Fences  3 times after downloading latest version

Start 11 working fine.

 

HELP please, I LOVE Fences and my desktop is a mess!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. In taskbar manager, does Fences Startup listed twice? It need to startup twice to work properly. Refer screenshot below.

Also Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

I tried what you suggest with no success. Fences Settings isn't running at all. The one thing I didn't mention was that I changed the location of the Desktop folder. I did this before with no problem but after Fences was working. I'm re-installing Windows to ensure folders are in the correct place. I'll post here again when I've cleaned things up. Thanks for your input!

I reinstalled Windows & now all directories are where they should be. I immediately installed Fences with the same result, the Welcome screen comes up but Fences never runs.

I've just gone back to older saved backups and installed version 4.0.0.3 which is working just fine (so far) thank you. Is it worth it tolet it update to the latest version?
