I cannot drag/drop or copy/paste between my PCs

I've been recently having an issue where I cannot drag/drop or copy/paste between my PCs. I'm using seemless mode. I am on Version 3.57 Build 00103.kvm.

I've tried the usual troubleshooting steps including:

  • Rebooted all affected machines
  • Uninstalled & rebooted and then reinstalled the software on my machines
  • verified software version are the same on all machines(3.57 Build 00103.kvm).
  • Made sure my devices are on private network and not public network.
  • Made sure all the appropriate Firewall ports are opened(I only have the Windows Defender Firewall, no third party)
  • Disabled Firewall on all machines and rebooted.
  • Made sure 'Share clipboard between computers' is checked/enabled.
  • Ran Multiplicty port fix (MPPortFix.cmd)
  • Tried installing Version 3.57 Build 00104.kvm
  • Tried adding secondary PC by IP instead of name
  • Followed instructions from the "I can't drag / drop or Copy / Paste" section of forum thread:  Multiplicity Support FAQ ยป Forum Post by Island Dog (stardock.com)

Thank you. I've done some more testing. I configured a windows 7 pc today and I can copy/paste and drag/drop to my win7 pc but not to my win 10 pc. it's very odd because it was working up to 2 weeks ago on my secondary win 10 pc.

Hi Xatara,

Sorry to hear you are having troubles.

I want to double check and see if you ran the port fix on both of the machines?

I also noticed that you have licenses for both KM and KVM, is KVM the activated licenses?

Are you getting the paste option on the 2nd PC when copy/paste and it just doesn't copy?

I ran port fix on both machines. I also disabled firewall on both(Primary and Secondary) machines for testing. I am unable to either copy/paste or drag/drop from my Primary to the secondary pc and vice versa. My third machine, the win 7 pc, I am able to do both copy/paste and drag and drop to and from the primary. I am using the KVM license that's why I'm able to drag & drop from the Primary to my 3rd machine.

Hi Xatara,

While not the best resolution to the issue, I am glad it fixed it for you
