In Start 10, the shortcut to "Recent Items" doesn't work. Moreover, clicking on a menu item in the list of "Recent Items" shown causes the machine to "hang" for about a minute. Everything else in Start 10 seems to work.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know which version of Windows 7,8 or 10 you're on? Use Winver.exe to get those and which Start10 version you have install?

Sorry. I missed your reply until now. Here is an updated version of my problem:
Windows 10 - Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2604)
Start11 - version 1.41
In Start11, at "Start Menu -> Configuration -> Quick access shortcuts",
"Recent Items" does not work. It hasn't worked for maybe a year. I had the same problem when I had Start10 installed (with Windows 10).
The problem is that, a moment or two after I hover my mouse over "Recent Items", the screen goes blank for a while ... and then it comes back.
If Windows Explorer happens to be up when I do this, it is gone after the screen returns after blanking. For sure, the same problem occurs if I click any of the items displayed after hovering over "Recent Items."
Any ideas?

From that, I believe, that show your Windows explorer, crashes and restart. What you can try, first is to see if your Recent files list it not corrupted. Try clear your recent file list first. Using this method: https://4it.com.au/kb/article/clear-quick-access-recent-file-folders-windows-10/ . Try that, then use your computer normally to let Windows to build your recent file list again. Retest it. Report back.
